Hellmut Wollmann 

 

Guest Professors

  Professor Hellmut Wollmann is a emeritus professor of the Institute of Social Sciences, Humboldt University, Germany. He is famous in his study on law, policy and administration, especially in his study on policy studies and public administration. His research fields involves comparative policy and administrative studies, to be specific, local and primary organizational administration and evaluation. He is a productive writer. Many of his publications are translated into English, French, Russian, and Chinese.

  Professor Wollmann is a member of the editorial board of a series “Local Government and Local Administration” edited by Pengfei Wan, School of Government, Peking University. Two books of the series by professor Wollmann were published: “German Local Government” (2004) and “Comparing Public Sector Reform in Britain and Germany” (2004)

  Professor Wollmann was invited by the German Studies Center of Peking University as a guest professor during the time October 30- November 19, 2006. He offered a course to the students of the center “German Constitution, Politics and Society”. The course is a required course of the center. The educational program of the Center has the characteristics of interdisciplinary, so the students in different domain can have a better understanding of Germany. The students who registered professor Wollmann’s course will go to HumboldtUniversity and Free University of Berlin to study in 2007. Professor Wollmann will visit Peking University again in March of 2007, doing research and participating the “International Forum on Civil Society” sponsored by the German Studies Center of Peking University.
